Day One

Arrive this afternoon and settle into your accommodation. The Village Inn is situated right in the heart of Cheshire, convenient for the main arterial roads of the north west, main line railway stations and both Manchester and Liverpool airports. As well as 12 beautifully appointed bedrooms the Village Inn offers fantastic food, served with fine wines and real local ales.

The historic city of Chester is just 20 minutes away plus many other local attractions such as Beeston and Peckforton Castle (both 15 minutes away), The Shire Horse Centre and Oulton Park Race Track (10 minutes away) and Go Ape and bike hire in Delamere Forest (5 minutes away). Riding can begin today if you arrive by lunchtime, if not riding will start tomorrow.

Day Two:

After breakfast you will take the short drive to the stables (2 miles). This morning we recommend you begin the day with a lesson from one of the school's qualified instructors. There will then be a break for lunch before you are allocated your horse for an afternoon ride along picturesque bridleways and quiet country lanes as you head towards Delamere Forest, Cheshire’s largest woodland. This is a popular destination for local riders and there is an ideally situated horse-friendly café along the route where horses can take a rest and riders can enjoy a coffee whilst admiring the views. This evening you can dine in the Village Inn or the alternative pub in the village which is a very short walk away. There are also several recommended gastro pubs nearby, just ask us upon booking and we can tell your our favourites!

Day Three:

After breakfast today the choice is yours, either enjoy another ride out in the Cheshire countryside or take a lesson on one of the stables well schooled horses (or both if you didn't ride on day one). For non-riders why not bring your bike or golf clubs? The road cycling and mountain biking in the area is fantastic, and there are several very good golf courses including the Championship and Premiership 18 hole courses at MacDonald Portal Golf and Spa Resort.

Customer Feedback:

"Just wanted to say I had an amazing time. The accommodation and the horses were superb. The staff at local Inn and the Stables really looked after me and made me feel very welcome. The hacks were idyllic. To top it all the weather was glorious. I would highly recommend the Village Inn experience. Horses and Beer do go together as long as you keep them 12 hours apart!!! Everything in moderation!"
