Our unaccompanied riding holidays run over both the Easter period and the summer holidays (end of June to end of August). We can cater for any level of rider from novice to advanced. Below is a brief outline of what the course entails. We like to keep our training methods varied and so you can be sure of lots of fun and interesting lessons!
Our package includes accommodation on site with 24hour supervision inclusive of meals, together with some evening entertainment. We know all of our staff very well and they are all trained in First Aid and hold the necessary Safeguarding qualifications.
Arrive Sunday afternoon, leave Saturday morning
6 nights accommodation plus all meals
5 days of tuition – 2 group lessons and a group stable management session per day
Option of one additional private lesson per day
Option to ride on the Saturday morning before departure
Initially you will learn how to handle horses and ponies safely including tying-up, leading and catching from the field. A typical day consists of 2 group lessons and a group stable management session per day with experienced instruction and adult supervision. During the stable management sessions you will learn to care for all the needs of the horses and ponies. These sessions will be structured accordingly, working towards pony club tests or BHS exams if required.
Please note: We start the week off on a Monday morning with a group assessment lesson in order to place riders in the correct group that will be most beneficial for learning and development. If time allows this assessment lesson can be done on the Sunday afternoon on arrival so the rider is suitably matched for the rest of their time training with us. All training will take place in a group format.
Onsite facilities include a 60m x 60m outdoor school which is used throughout the year for jumping lessons, lunge lessons and dressage lessons. A 60m x 40m indoor school. A café which is located right next to the indoor school. A cross-country course featuring lots of logs of varying height, several roll-tops, some small drop fences, a few ditches, a small trakehner and fixed barrels to name a few.
We can organise airport/station transfers from anywhere in the UK, we can even arrange a central London pick up if required! This needs to be booked in advance.
English Tuition can be included in the package, in either group or private sessions, alternatively we are quite used to an English tutor coming too in the case of small groups.
We also run adult courses throughout the year.
