There are several ways to reach our riding centre in Scotland. You can either fly into Glasgow or Edinburgh where we can arrange a transfer (both 40mins), or you can get the train to Lanark where we can arrange for you to be collected. Transfers are to be paid for directly. Alternatively you can make your own way there by car or taxi. The local town is an easy 5 minute walk away so don't worry if you won't have a car.
Once you arrive everything is included in the price except drinks.
ITINERARY:
Day 1: Sunday
Today you will be collected from the airport or train station, alternatively you can drive to the equestrian centre. Please ensure you arrive by 2pm in time for your first assessment ride at 3pm which will take you around the ancient Lanark Racecourse. This evening you will enjoy your first evening meal together in the stable bistro with Glayva Toasts.
Day 2: Monday
Today, you and your fellow riders will start your horseback journey following in the footsteps of William Wallace The Great! Prepare to take a step back in history as you leave the riding centre and hack through beautiful countryside. You will visit Wallace's hideaways around the forests and caves of Lanark taking in the famous falls of Clyde along the way, before viewing the site of Lanark Castle where Wallace famously killed the hated Sheriff of Lanark! You will also enjoy a trot up the old high street to see the murals and statues of Scotlands favourite hero.
Guests can opt to get their own horses ready (groom, tack up etc.) or have them prepared by the centre staff.
All meals are table-served in the on-site Bistro dining room. Evenings can be spent in the comfy lounge, your luxury bedroom with free WiFi, Egyptian cotton bedding and towels, complimentary tea and coffee, flat screen TV with DVD, or use the small gym and cinema, or you can explore the local area.
Day 3: Tuesday
After a hearty breakfast you will set off in Wallace's fleeing footsteps once more, up and over the hills to Stobo Kirk. This was the first stop for Wallace as he fled from English soldiers. This is an exciting ride with immense scenery riding from Broughton, over the beautiful Scottish Borders and spectacular rolling hills and countryside to Stobo.
Tonight will be your final evening meal with your new-found equestrian friends. Enjoy a delicious dinner and Glayva Toasts.
For each of your full day rides you will be provided with a packed lunch.
