This morning your riding programme will begin. You can walk to the equestrian centre, it is just 1km away, you will then be met by your instructor and his grooms. The centre is located north of Barcelona and is set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, surrounded by mile upon mile of private tracks and pathways - perfect for riding along!
The centre offers excellent tuition including jumping lessons and they are able to cater for total beginners right up to the most experienced competition riders. Experienced riders will be enjoying six full days riding out. Beginners can choose to have a mixture of lessons and hacks with a break for lunch. If you would prefer to design your own riding plan please let us know upon enquiring.
This evening you can either eat in the hotel or you can get the local bus into the local medieval town of Besalu. The 12th century Roman bridge over to the town is a real landmark. The restaurants in this region are a gastronomic delight serving a mixture of traditional Spanish and local dishes.
Beginner riders will enjoy a similar riding plan to day two, combining a lesson and a hack out, whilst more experienced riders will be making the most of the wonderful local scenery and head out for a longer ride.
Our instructor is a fantastic horseman who has previously ridden for the Spanish show jumping team, therefore he offers a very high standard of tuition including jumping lessons for the more experienced rider. He competes in the Spanish Western Championships every year, often returning home with medals. His horses often win western, show jumping and dressage competitions.
A similar riding plan is available as in previous days. If you need help to plan your ideal riding package we are always available to help! In addition to the riding this is a beautiful area, one afternoon or evening you may like to visit the medieval town of Besalu, there is a bus that passes your hotel each day.
Beginner riders will enjoy their 4th private lesson with our instructor, followed by a hack out. Hopefull by now you are starting to learn about the correct posture, hand and leg position and feeling comfortable rising in your trot. Whilst the more experienced riders will be making the most of their ability, riding different horses and enjoying some fast paced riding through this wonderful area.
By now you have your daily routine. When you are not riding why not walk the city walls of Girona. The city wall was built in Roman times in the 1st century BC. It is possible to walk the entire length of the walls and climb the towers, where visitors can enjoy panoramic views of Girona and the surrounding countryside.
Today is your final day of riding in this truly spectacular area so make the most of it!

"I love horse riding and couldn’t think of any better way to spend some time in Spain and learn a bit about Spanish culture. At the stables, Rafa, Nuria and Silvia made my riding holiday really wonderful and challenging. They have wonderful horses of all sizes and types and are very warm and welcoming."
