Day1
Arrive and settle into your accommodation (you can either hire a car or we can arrange a private transfer). This particular holiday is ideal for groups of 3 or more or families, there is a minumum 4 night stay. If you are a smaller group or a solo traveller please click here. Your group will be staying in the lovely 'Son Ferratge Finca' with its own private swimming pool. Here you can relax and unwind overlooking the fields where your horses graze with a backdrop of the stunning Tramuntana Mountains - perfection!
The house has a private swimming pool, a number of terraces with views of the surrounding countryside, indoor and outdoor kitchens, satellite television and wifi.
There is a double room and two twin-rooms and there are two bathrooms.
Traditionally a wealthy Mallorcan family would have a winter house in town and a summer house out in the countryside where fruit, vegetables and livestock could be raised to feed the family throughout the year.
Today Mallorcan life still revolves around the traditions of growing, cooking and eating local produce and celebrating the pleasures of life.
This holiday is all inclusive of meals which will be prepared and served in the Finca including table wine and soft drinks. Some meals will be taken in local restaurants as tapas.
Your riding holiday adventure will start tomorrow.
Day 2
Stroll to the stables where you will meet your instructor and horses for your first day of riding. Each day there will be a half day ride included although more can be booked if required. You will be introduced to the horses and those who need instruction will be taught how to control their horse. After an assessment you will set out to enjoy riding in this pictureque area.
Our riding stable in Mallorca is a natural horse care stable, where the willing friendly horses are ridden bare hoof and bitless. It is located in the margins of the Albufera, a natural park and wildlife reserve, famous for birds, plants and small mammals. The nearest town is Sa Polba, which sits in the agricultural plain of northern Mallorca and is an unspoilt working town with a wonderful market twice a week for fresh produce. The historic towns of Alcudia and Pollenca are also nearby.
Day 3 - 7
After breakfast you will be heading back to the stables for your second day of riding; by now you will have familiarised yourself with the stables, horses and staff. Daily rides take different routes along paths and tracks with changes of pace and longer canters for those who like them. There is a mixture of riding on flat sandy tracks which are fringed with reeds, on tracks through grassy fields and on hilly paths which rise up to give views of the Albufera and the green fields of vegetables and rice below. The beautiful landscape sits against a backdrop of the nearby Tramuntana Mountains.
If you would like some longer rides with breaks for drinks and lunch (times vary during hot weather) please ask. We can include picnic rides, rides out to nearby cafes and restaurants and beach rides to watch the sunset.
Day 8
Today, sadly it is time to bid farewell to new friends as you head back to the airport for your flight home.
General Information
Nestling between the bay and the mountains you will find the stables of our wonderful instructor, guide, trainer and qualified farrier. Here, he has spent most of his life working with horses, he has a reputation locally for being a horse whisper and this is certainly born out as you see him working with his horses; the majority of which have been rescued and are now part of his extended family. They are of mixed blood including Andalucian and Arabian, riding is always in escorted small groups and all abilities are welcome.
Equestrian Escapes are happy to reserve your transfers for you however, as payment for this service is made directly to the transfer provider this service does not form part of our contract with you. As such, we are unable to accept responsibility for any delays, missed transfers etc.
