This centre based all inclusive learn to ride holiday is ideal for anyone wishing to learn or improve their riding skills. Here you stay in a beautifully converted hotel which is on the original site of Belstane Castle, home of Robert the Bruce in 1312. The horses here are on site to the accommodation making this a great option for anyone arriving by public transport.

Sunday:

Arrive this afternoon/evening in time for 6pm dinner, riding will commence tomorrow morning. See available dates below.

Evenings can be spent in the comfy lounge, your luxury bedroom with free WiFi, Egyptian cotton bedding and towels, complimentary tea and coffee, flat screen TV with DVD, or you can explore the local area.

There are several ways to reach our riding centre in Scotland. You can either fly into Glasgow or Edinburgh where we can arrange a transfer (40minutes-1hr respectively), you can get the train to Carluke (complimentary transfer), or you can make your own way to the Equestrian Centre by car or taxi.

Monday - Friday:

After a hearty breakfast riding will commence with an introductory lesson, you will then be allocated a horse suitable for your size and experience and your journey of discovery will begin. During the week you will enjoy personalised guidance from eight highly qualified instructors, each dedicated to elevating your confidence, posture, and connection with the horse. Hacks will take you into the Border Hills and William Wallace Country, along canter tracks for those capable.

The content of your break will be tailored to suit your riding levels  and you will discuss this upon arrival with your instructor. You will have lessons with experienced qualified coaches and hacks with knowledgable guides. Here there are top-class all-weather facilities, so riding is never interrupted.

Traveller review:

"The Scottish Equestrian Centre is so welcoming and runs like clockwork. I so enjoyed our host Maureen, a lovely lady, whose passion shows in the management of the Centre, selection of horses & riding staff. She never failed to discuss my daily goals and desires to make sure each day was a good ride. My room was lovely, clean & very comfortable, the food plentiful and delicious and the variety of horses I was able to ride, whether for lessons or trail, were well trained, well cared for and well mannered. Paul, Emma, Sandra and the rest of the staff are so knowledgeable in instruction, whether over fences or flat work and communicated instruction so well. The trails and amount of land at their disposal for riding is amazing, well kept and breathtaking. I’m sure I’ll return for their Castles ride."
