We are offering just three of these amazing Lakeland Adventure rides in 2021 - with limited places they offer an amazing opportunity to explore this region of the Lake District on horse back.
The riding sets off across our own 2,500 acres of private estate land which comprises of miles of secluded woodland tracks (where we often come across deer and other woodland wild life). Over the 4 days of riding we take you to some amazing view points of the South Lakeland and cover over 60 miles on horseback. Our journey will include plenty of off road as well as quiet lanes, roads and tracks.
Each day we ride out from the stables for 4 - 5 hours with a stop at lunch time either at a country pub or a picnic lunch. At the end of the day we return to Witherslack Hall Farm for a welcome cup of tea, a hot bath and a bit of relaxation before a three course home cooked dinner.
Arrive after 15.00 and settle into your accommodation - this evening a home cooked dinner served in our grand dining room will be a chance to meet and get to know your fellow riders. If you feel you would like a lesson this afternoon - let us know!
Today we will stay on the Witherslack Estate, which boasts an amazing 2500 acres of secluded woodland tracks, quiet lanes and open fell, with plenty of opportunities to canter. Lunch will be at the farmhouse today. This gives us the opportunity to check you are happy with your horse!
We will be riding out towards the west side of the valley today with some amazing views out across Morcambe Bay, we will be heading over Simpson ground and making our way over Cartmel Fell to the acclaimed Hare and Hounds for lunch, after lunch we will make our way through Bowland Bridge then back on to the estate.
Today we will be heading east through the Lyth Valley (Home of the Damson), making our way over to Underbarrow and stopping for lunch at the Black Labrador. After lunch we will make our way back to the farm skirting Whitbarrow Scar Nature Reserve.
Our Final day will take us south west towards Hampsfell, be prepared for some breath taking views from the 727-feet summit, on a clear day you can see Blackpool Tower. We will have a picnic lunch today. At the end of the day it is time to leave us - though an extra nights stay can be organised!
