Arrive today and settle into your seaside accommodation. You can choose to stay in a double or twin bedroom in the B&B, or one of the larger adjacent family apartments all of which are beautifully situated close to the beach. This evening embrace the natural beauty of the South West by taking a walk or bike ride along the Tarka Trail. This famous route runs along 130 miles of Devon's coastline passing by long white sandy beaches, hidden rockpools, high cliffs and magical fishing villages.
For dinner you have a host of local restaurants and pubs to choose from, all just a few minutes walk away.
After breakfast today you will be heading for the riding centre, a short walk or an even shorter drive from your accommodation. The children’s pony days run from 10am - 4pm each day and children are required to bring a packed lunch. During the pony days children will ride twice (lesson and hack out). They will also learn to look after and handle their pony throughout the day including preparing them for their rides, lunchtime feeding and getting them ready for bed. They will be under the supervision of their qualified instructor at all times.
Adults who would like to enjoy riding themselves can have a lesson followed by a short hack out, leaving the rest of the afternoon free to relax before collecting the children. We can personally recommend The Red Barn for a traditional Devonshire cream tea. The pretty hillside village hosts great pubs, restaurants and a laid back atmosphere, and with it's typically mild North Devon climate makes this a wonderful year-round holiday destination.
Today there will be another fun packed day at the stables for the children. Beginner adults can follow a similar programme to yesterday, with the more experienced riders enjoying a scenic hack over the National Trust Land boasting spectacular views of the North Devon coastline.
For the more adventurous non-riders, have a look at our Devon Travel Guide and why not try your hand at the many watersports that are on offer. You can choose from surfing, kayaking or coasteering (but remember an old pair of trainers for this one!)
This evening you can choose from a range of dining experiences from a light snack to a full a la carte meal.
This is the last day at the stables for the children who should now be experts, and will no doubt take great delight in explaining to you in great detail the difference between a dandy brush and a body brush! Beginner adults who have chosen to ride will have a final hack out, whilst the experienced riders will be preparing for the beach ride. Here you will get the opportunity to have a canter or gallop along 3 miles of clear white sandy beach following the sand dunes and Traka Trail back to the stables which offer truly stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Sadly it's time to say goodbye!
