Equestrian Escapes have launched a sister website bed and breakfast for horses where you will find an extensive list of riding holidays for you and your horse within the UK. Pease visit the site for further details.

Day One

Arrive and settle yourself and your horse into your accommodation. We have two log cabins on site, there is a smaller 4 person cabin comprising of a double and a twin room, bathroom and kitchen/lounge/diner. The larger cabin sleeps 6 and has one double room, two twin rooms, bathroom and kitchen/lounge/diner. If you’d like to exercise your horse this evening there is an all weather arena on site. Later you can enjoy a home cooked meal at the traditional country pub, The Carriers Inn is the closest and highly recommended. The Fortune Palace is a nearby Chinese restaurant. The village of Kelsall is just a 10 minute drive away with two very good gastro pubs, Chester is 25 minutes by car, or train from Delamere station which is a very short walk from your cabin.

Day Two

Start the day off by schooling your horse in the arena followed by a leisurely hack out into Delamere Forest, Cheshire’s largest woodland. You might even want to pre-book onto the Kelsall Hill cross country ride (5 minutes drive down the road). Their facilities include a new 4.5 furlong all weather gallop, 7 mile farm ride, an 80m x 46m arena for showjumping and an 30m x 46m arena for flatwork for hire and BE cross country course available for schooling.

This evening choose again from a range of dining experiences. The pretty local village of Tarporley is a 10 minute drive away. The Swan pub has an award winning Chef, The Coast is one of Tarporley's newest bar/restaurants and is very popular and the Fox and Barrel is one of the best gastro pubs in the area, renowned for exquisite food (pre-booking is recommended).

Day Three

Breakfast in your cabin then the choice is yours. Either enjoy another ride out in the forest, the routes are endless, or arrange a show jumping lesson or just use of the facilties at Kelsall Hill!

For non-riders and for those wanting to do some sight-seeing, the historic city of Chester is only a 25 minute drive/train ride; its unique black and white Tudor-style shopping rows draw visitors from around the globe. Beeston and Peckforton Castle are 20 minutes away by car. We also recommend Chester Zoo, Go Ape, Cheshire Oaks for shopping, Cotebrook Shire Horse Centre and Cheshire Ice Cream farm (great for the family).

2022/2023 Prices : £295 per person based on 4 sharing (4 man lodge)

£100 refundable damage deposit to be paid in advance - which is refunded once the cabin and stables have been inspected on your departure.

We expect visiting animals to be up to date with jabs and worm counts and to have third party insurance.

Dogs (over 12 months old) welcome at £30 each (Please Note: we accept maximum 1 dog in Blakemere Lodge and maximum 2 dogs in Lynmere Lodge). Unfortunately we cannot accept unspayed female dogs and all dogs must be kept on a lead around the properties.
