My daughter did pole work, jumping, dressage, a woodland hack and a beach ride, along with stable management and the freedom to cuddle the beautiful horses as much as she wanted to. The beach ride was simply put, living the dream for her. And the hotel - perfect location, gorgeous hosts and amazing sunrises and sunsets from the comfort of our beds.
Day One
If your dream is to enjoy a gentle ride on the beach in the UK then this is the break for you! The accommodation is in our lovely Victorian, Grade II listed B&B / guest house or self catered appartments all of which look out over the promenade and beach. We offer single, twin, double and family rooms all with en-suite or private bathrooms, some with sea views (supplement to pay). This afternoon you will begin your riding holiday. We suggest that you start with a lesson to enable instructors to assess your level and to allocate you with an appropriate horse.
Day Two
After breakfast this morning you will head back to the stables. You will be riding twice today, you can choose from additional tuition, beach rides or woodland stroll (suitable for beginners only, 30 minute ride ideal as an introduction to hacking). We will talk to you about an appropriate programme for your level of experience, most people choose a mixture. All levels are able to ride on the beach, riders will be divided into ability groups on the beach so that everyone is riding at an appropriate level. The stable is located a short hack away from the beach and you will ride through town to get to the beach.
Day Three
This morning after breakfast, you will be preparing for your final horseback adventure. Today we suggest heading to the beach once more.
For those who have a child over 7 years interested in riding we can arrange an 'own a pony morning'. This will include a riding lesson, hack and stable management (grooming, tacking up and may be lunging for those who are more experienced). These can be arranged any day of the week and run from 9am - 12pm, all you need is to drop your little one off.
Prices
2 nights B&B in a double/twin ensuite bedroom for two riders with 4 riding opportunities (2 lessons, 1 woodland stroll and 1 beach ride suitable for beginners) or (1 lesson, 1 woodland stroll and 2 beach ride suitable for beginners / nervous riders) £455 per person all year round.
2 nights B&B in a single occupancy room for solo riders with 1 lesson, 2 beach rides and 1 woodland stroll suitable for beginners / nervous riders £535 all year round.
2 nights B&B for novice/intermediate riders keen to learn we would recommend 2 lessons and 2 beach rides and the price for this would be £495 per person in a shared double/twin or £585 for solo travellers for a 2 night break.
2 nights B&B for intermediate riders keen to ride on the beach we would recommend 1 lesson and 1 standard beach ride and 1 extended beach ride. The price for this would be £495 per person in a shared double/twin or £575 for solo travellers for a 2 night break.
2 nights for better riders who can walk, trot and canter confidently then 1 lesson and 1 extended beach ride and one longer beach ride and the price for this would be £545 per person in a shared twin/ double or £625 for solo travellers for a 2 night break.
3 nights B&B in a double/twin ensuite bedroom for two riders with 2 lessons, 1 woodland stroll and 2 beach rides suitable for beginners, novice / rusty riders £605 per person all year round or £735 for solo riders.
3 nights B&B in a double/twin ensuite bedroom for better riders with 1 lesson, 1 extended beach ride and 2 x longer beach rides £745 per person all year round based on 2 people travelling or for solo riders £870.
Upgrade to boutique hotel add £20 per night per person (minimum 2 people per room) add £40 per night if just one person in the room.
Seaview room supplement add £20 per night per person.
Our self catered apartments are ideal for groups or families - enquire for availability and prices. Please note as with all self catering apartments a breakage deposit is taken prior to arrival, this is released in full after the apartment is left in the same condition as upon arrival.
Max weight 15 stone. We can teach children from age 4 years but to do the Own a Pony Day children need to be over 7 years of age.
Christmas Special
During the month of December we will be celebrating Xmas! We will be decorating our horses (and ourselves if you would like!) and then after the beach rides we will be enjoying mulled wine and sausage rolls in the tackroom resplendent with Christmas Tree and wood burning stove! Let's all get in the Christmas Spirit in 2023!
Stables
Our riding school offers BHS Qualified Instructors and 25 well mannered horses and ponies suitable for all ages and abilities and is recognised and approved by the British Horse Society, Association of British Riding Schools and Riding for the Disabled. So contact us today for a quote.
Access
This break is suitable for those without a car. The train station of Lowestoft is in town and is a short walk from the accommodation and stable.
