Arrive in to Almeria, Murcia or Alicante airport. If you choose not to hire a car we can arrange for you to be collected and taken to your accommodation.
Almeria is officially the sunniest resort in Spain so bring your sun glasses and sun cream! The ranch is located approximately 1 1/2 hours from Almeria airport and nestles in the mountains 600m above sea level. Upon arrival you will be shown to your villa, there are several available and depending on your group size you will either have a 2, 3 or 4 bedroom property. Singles, couples and small groups will be in shared villas. All the villas are a very short drive / 15 minute walk from the stables. Each villa has a pool and fantastic views across the valley and mountains. Breakfast is provided for you in the villa. Lunch will be taken at the ranch in between rides and you will have your dinner cooked for you in the villa of an evening / invited back to the ranch for a BBQ.
Later this afternoon you will have the opportunity to ride for the first time, beginners will be instructed in the sand paddock whilst experienced riders can venture out along the many paths and tracks that lead from the ranch. On a 3 night break you will get 3 full days of riding. If your flight arrives early and departs late you can purchase extra rides and meals on site.
Today, depending on your riding ability and preference, you will have a lesson and a ride out in the countryside or a day trek when you can expect to enjoy fabulous views. The hacks/treks follow a variety of different routes which include spectacular riding through virgin countryside as you cross mountain gorges that open up into vast areas of totally unspoilt countryside.
Picnics are included for longer rides or village pit stops may be included if preferred at local tapas bars where the horses wait in a shady paddock (approx 10€ extra pp).
The terrain is primarily on mountain tracks and paths, there are good oportunities for faster riding on the ramblers which is a system of dry river beds that stretch from the ranch right to the sea. There are 25 horses from ponies suitable for children to a range of horses to suit both adult novice and more experienced riders. Full board is included each day; lunch will be a light snack between rides and the evening meal will be in the house.
This morning after breakfast, you will continue with your riding plan, beginners may have another lesson and after that a ride out or the more experienced riders can enjoy a day trek with picnic. If you prefer to just ride out that is fine too; all breaks will be tailor-made for the individual so no matter your ability level from beginners to experienced riders you can rest assured you will have a programme to suit you. Riding out will be in small groups of similar ability but of rarely more than a handful of riders.
Day 4 - 7
Full board accommodation and all riding will be offered throughout your holiday. A standard 3 night break will include 3 full days of riding. For example if you arrive in time to start riding in the afternoon of day 1 you will receive a 1/2 day ride upon arrival, a full day ride on day 2, a full day ride on day 3 and a final 1/2 day ride in the morning of day 4 before your flight home.
Also don't forget to make a visit to the local town. Typically, it is white-washed with narrow streets interspersed with small plazas, it is surrounded by olive groves and orange and lemon orchards and has a super market on a Tuesday that is well worth a visit!
Sadly today is the last day of your holiday, you will be returned to the airport for your flight home.
2 or more travellers 3 nights = £395pp. 4 nights = £435pp. 5 nights = £505pp, 6/7 nights £595
For single travellers add £75 to the above prices.

"I thought you may be interested in our feedback from our riding hols in Almeria. It was absolutely wonderful. The family were lovely and Jay and Erica made us very welcome, as did mom and dad."

Note! This is a very in-expensive riding holiday and as such it is incredibly good value for money. Accommodation is good, clean and basic - it is not luxury! Food is cooked and served by the owners and their family (your hosts). The horses here are well looked after and cared for but they are not turned out in paddocks. This area is Spain is very barren and hot and as such the horses are used to living out in corrals and are fed hay and hard feed.
Take a look at our horse riding holidays on the beach in Tarifa. We have a riding programme for beginners and a programme for advanced riders as well as week long riding holidays and horse riding weekends.
We inspect all the horses in our horse riding holidays to ensure the best quality holiday for you.
