From 23 August 2014 – 7 September 2014 the World Equestrian Games are heading to Normandy.
The Games are held every 4 years and run over two weeks showcasing 8 equestrian disciplines and drawing the best horsemen and women from every corner of the Globe. In 2010, 57 countries were represented by 800 people and their horses.
Caen will host 7 of the 8 disciplines in an around the D'Ornano Stadium; in Haras du Pin the National Stud will host the dressage and cross country of the eventing; and the beaches of Mont Saint-Michel hold the Endurance. A shopping village will also be sited in Caen allowing for that all important retail therapy!
