Day One
Arrive and settle yourself and your horse into your respective accommodation. If you’d like to exercise your horse, there is an all weather arena and also jumps for the drier periods of the year. Then enjoy a home cooked meal at the traditional country pub, the Alvanley Arms.
Day Two
Breakfast, overlooking Cheshire’s rolling pastureland. Enjoy a ride this morning from Hill House Farm along picturesque bridleways and quiet country lanes. You will be provided with a map detailing rides from 2-10 miles long. A picnic lunch will be provided today, so why not explore Delamere Forest, Cheshire’s largest woodland.
This is a popular destination for local riders and there is an ideally situated horse-friendly café along the route where horses can take a rest and riders can enjoy a coffee whilst admiring the views. This evening choose from a range of dining experiences in the pretty local village of Tarporley. The Swan pub has an award winning Chef, The Rising Sun is renowned for exquisite food and Christianos is one of the best Italian restaurants in Cheshire.
Day Three
English breakfast at the farm, then the choice is yours. Either enjoy another ride out in the Cheshire countryside or ride in the farm’s excellent arena. For non-riders and for those wanting to do some sight-seeing, the historic city of Chester is only a 15 minute drive; its unique black and white Tudor-style shopping rows draw visitors from around the globe. Beeston Castle is a 10 minute drive, at its summit the spectacular views span across 5 counties. We can also organise lessons and escorted hacks around the beautiful local countryside.
Other activities for family and friends include:
- Go ape in Delamere forest: ideal for older children (12+) and adults
- Chester Zoo: popular for younger children
- Golf at the local Portal Golf Club (green fees can be arranged)
- Walks on the Sandstone trail
- Beeston/ Peckforton castle
Or why not time your visit to coincide with:
