Horses, Sun and Wine

Prices for this package start at £595 per person in a shared twin room.

Day One

Arrive Seville or Jerez airport, private transfer to The Hacienda (one hour drive from Seville so this carries a supplement). Arrive at your four star accommodation where you will be shown to your private suite.

Take a moment to appreciate the beautiful setting of this magnificent Hacienda. You will of course have time to enjoy the gardens and swimming pool in the days to come.

Day Two

Breakfast and short orientation tour of The Hacienda. The Hacienda was formally owned by the champion bull-fighter of Jerez and has been lovingly and carefully converted by its new owners, into a true paradise where you can ride horses and relax in luxury. Riding begins today, choose between hacking in the surrounding countryside or enjoy Classical Dressage lessons with expert German or Spanish Instructors who speak good English (either one hour lesson or two hour hack).

Day Three

Breakfast. Time for relaxation or a swim. Mid-morning visit to The Royal Riding School of Jerez. Renowned throughout the world for their breath-taking exhibition ‘How the Andalusian horses dance’. Their painstaking training methods make this show a real delight as the horses perform intricate and demanding movements with effortless grace and control. Time for lunch. Riding lessons in the cool of the late afternoon back at The Hacienda (either one hour lesson or two hour hack). Time to relax and reflect with friends on the experiences of the day.

Day Four

Breakfast. Visit to the Gonzales Byass Bodega, Jerez, founded in 1835 and the birthplace of ‘Tio Pepe’, which was first exported to Great Britain in 1844. Today, the impressive visitor centre sets one on a course of discovery as you learn to appreciate and savour the wonderful local wines. Time for lunch. Riding (either one hour lesson or two hour hack). Dinner out with a Flamenco Show. You really can’t visit Andalusia without witnessing at first hand the passion of The Flamenco Dance! The origin of this dance is still unknown, although it is generally believed to be a mixture of gypsy and Arabic dance. What is not in question, is the passion and fervour of the performers as they combine acoustic guitar with singing, dancing and staccato hand clapping. A night to remember!

Day Five

Breakfast. Riding, relax or why not take a day trip to Seville.

Sevilla lies on the banks of the Guadalquivir and is one of the largest historical centres in Europe, it has the minaret of La Giralda, the cathedral (one of the largest in Christendom), and the Alcázar Palace. Part of its treasure include Casa de Pilatos, Torre del Oro, the Town Hall, Archive of the Indies (where the historical records of the American continent are kept), the Fine Arts Museum (the second largest picture gallery in Spain). Today you will have all afternoon to explore this wonderful city (guided tours can be arranged or you may prefer some free time to shop or sight see).
