Jerez de la Frontera (golf option)

Prices for this package start at £595 per person in a shared twin room.

Day One

Arrive Jerez airport in the late afternoon, private transfer to your four star Hacienda, located just a few minutes from the town of Jerez de la Frontera. The Hacienda was formally owned by the champion bull fighter of Jerez and has been lovingly and carefully converted by its new owners, into a true paradise, where you can ride horses, play golf at nearby Montecastillo Golf Club or Sherry Golf Club and relax in luxury.

The accommodation is in the form of individual suites, each with private terrace, spacious sitting room, large double bedroom and ample bathroom with ‘walk-in’ shower and double hand basins. It is set amongst landscaped gardens and the magnificent swimming pool forms the centre piece of this truly unique property.

Day Two

Breakfast this morning and then the choice is yours…

You may like to start your horse riding programme today with a choice of either hacking in the surrounding countryside or may enjoy the challenge of Classical Dressage lessons with expert German and Spanish Instructors.

Alternatively if golf is your ‘bag’ then we can organise green fees at nearby Montecastillo or Sherry Golf Clubs. Montecastillo was designed by the legendary Jack Nicklaus and is renowned as one of the best courses in Europe – in fact it is rated 53rd best course on the entire planet! Sherry is a 6572m par 72 course and runs up and down a long sloping area with many beautiful lakes and wonderful views over the sherry-growing vineyards. It is proud to be hosting the forthcoming Spanish Mens Amateur Tournament.

Day Three

Breakfast. Today we suggest a visit to The Royal Riding School of Jerez. This display is renowned throughout the world for the breath taking interpretation of ‘How they dance, the Andalusian horses’ The painstaking training methods make this show a real delight as the horses performing intricate and demanding movements with effortless grace and control. This is a visit that attracts a wide range of visitors not only horse experts!

Later today enjoy more riding in the cool of the late afternoon back at The Hacienda.

Naturally, we can offer more golf today with a choice of courses and the option to play either early or late in the day.

Time to relax and reflect with friends on the experiences of the day.

Day Four

Breakfast. Visit to the Bodega Gonzales Byass. This bodega was founded in 1835 and was the birthplace of ‘Tio Pepe’, which was first exported to Great Britain in 1844. Today, the impressive visitors centre sets one on a course of discovery as you learn to appreciate and savour the wonderful local wines.

This afternoon also offers the option of riding, playing golf or relaxing by the landscaped swimming pool. Whatever you do this afternoon, do conserve a little energy for the evening! Tonight you can enjoy dinner out in Jerez with a Flamenco Show.

You really can’t visit Andalucia without witnessing at firsthand the passion of The Flamenco Dance! The origin of this dance is still unknown, although it is generally believed to be a mixture of gypsy and Arabic dance. What is not in debate though, is the passion and fervour of the performers as they combine acoustic guitar with singing, dancing and staccato hand clapping.

Day Five

Breakfast. This morning you can choose between a last ride on one of the haciendas fabulous horses or you may like to get up early and enjoy another round of golf. Later today you will be transferred back to the airport for the flight home.

This itinerary is just a suggestion. You can stay for just a long weekend or extend your stay for longer. You can ride more or less, play more or less golf or even alternate between riding and golf. This holiday is suitable for families and there are horses available for children and beginners. You may choose to visit the historic city of Seville one day, we can provide you with a suggested itinerary to enable you get the very most of your day and transport too, if required. You may choose to hire a car from the airport and of course any prices that we quote will be adapted to include your own specific requirements.

As an example of price the following package would cost £535 per person:

  • 4 nights accommodation in shared suite
  • Airport transfers in Spain
  • Flamenco Show and Dinner
  • Visit Tio Pepe Bodega
  • Show at Royal Riding School

AND including either:

  • Horse Riding - 8 hours hacking or 4 private dressage lessons
  • Golf - 3 x Green fees, one at Montecastillo, one at Sherry and a third at a different course of your choice (6 locally)
  • We can arrange collection from Seville or Malaga at a supplement
