The stables and cottages are set amidst the beautiful Yorkshire Dales in an elevated position and boast the most spectacular scenery. They offer 40 acres of grounds for riding and 26 acres of woodland. This riding holiday is perfect for children who want to immerse themselves into everything horsey. We can organise lessons and hacks for adults and offer a reduced price for non-riders.

Day One

Arrive and settle into your accommodation in the pretty self catering holiday cottages situated adjacent to the riding stables. If time permits, we can organise a ride for you today, alternatively riding will commence tomorrow. Tonight, you may like to visit the local village just a few minutes away where there is a public house; additionally there is a more extensive range of pubs and restaurants between 5 and 15 minutes away.

Day Two

This morning you will have a lesson with one of the riding stables instructors in the floodlit outdoor arena or alternatively the stables have an indoor arena. This afternoon, after time for lunch, you will be enjoying the Yorkshire Dales from horse back. You will be trekking through the stables grounds and enjoying the panoramic views of this unique area. All the treks are supervised by a member of staff and are suitable for all levels of rider. Lead rein treks are available for younger, less experienced riders.

Day Three

Today the riding will follow the same format as yesterday with a lesson with the stables qualified instructors then a trek ideal for families. There is plenty to do for non-riders including fishing in the River Bain and a beautiful lake is only a 10 minute walk away. Additionally, this area is brimming with English Heritage.

Day Four

Today you will have a lesson and then go on a trek through the Yorkshire Dales. All the treks are supervised by a member of staff. After your rides you may like to visit the White Scar Cave. The cave is about 1 hour from the riding stables but well worth the journey. It is the longest show cave in Britain and you will see underground waterfalls and streams as well as spectacular stalagmites.

Day Five

Today you may like to take a day off from riding and visit one of the many attractions Yorkshire has to offer. There is a biking centre about 1hr 30 minutes away from the stables where you will be able to take in the spectacular countryside on another mode of transport. Here you can hire bikes and you will get a detailed informative route map of the area. Additionally, only 30 minutes drive away is one of the UK’s leading theme parks. With over 40 rides there are rides for all the family.

Day Six

Today you will have a lesson with the stables BHSA qualified instructors. Why not enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Yorkshire Dales from the canopy of the trees on the aerial adventure course located only 30 minutes from the riding centre.

Day Seven

This morning you will have a lesson. We can offer dressage or jumping lessons. We can also offer one hour pony experience sessions, including a riding lesson and horse care in a group. This afternoon, you will be trekking in the hilltops.
