Day 1:
There are several ways to reach our riding centre in Scotland. You can either fly into Glasgow or Edinburgh where we can arrange a transfer (both 40mins), you can get the train to Glasgow, Edinburgh, Motherwell or Carstairs, or you can make your own way there by car. The local town is an easy 5 minute walk away so don't worry if you won't have a car.
Arrive this afternoon/evening, riding will commence tomorrow morning. All meals are table-served in the on-site Bistro dining room. Evenings can be spent in the comfy lounge, your luxury bedroom with free WiFi, Egyptian cotton bedding and towels, complimentary tea and coffee, flat screen TV with DVD, or use the small gym and cinema, or you can explore the local area.
Day 2-6:
After breakfast riding will commence with an introductory lesson. After a short assessment you will be allocated a horse suitable for your size and experience and your journey of discovery will begin. This afternoon you will be enjoying a picturesque hack along bridleways and quiet country lanes. Hacking out from the riding centre includes day rides to local beauty spots such as the famous Corra Linn Waterfalls and to the World Heritage site of New Lanark. Guests can opt to get their own horses ready (groom, tack up etc.) or have them prepared by the centre staff.
The content of your break will be tailored to suit your riding levels and you will discuss this upon arrival with your instructor. You will ride for up to four hours each day and this is usually a mixture of lessons and hacking out depending on your riding ability (day 2-6 inclusive). Tuition and hacking out are usually intermixed with other riders to give a good balanced holiday.
All of the instructors are highly experienced and hold the British Equestrian Tourism Certificate as well as a BHS instructors certificate.
