Almeria Granada ride beach & mountains

Day One

Arrive at Malaga/Granada Airport and head to Granada. According to many, this is the most beautiful city in Andalucia displaying a fusion of both Western and Eastern cultures, as you wander through its charming streets your body is infused with the unequivocal atmosphere of its historic past. Gazing up from the city you will be stunned by one of the most marvellous architectural feats of the world; the Alhambra Palace. Truly this is like a scene from one of the stories of A Thousand and One Arabian Nights. Above all Granada is a melting pot of cultures and because of this by night the city offers some of the best Flamenco shows of the region. You can choose among our different types of accommodation.

Day Two

Today you will have the opportunity to ride in the natural parkland of the Sierra Nevada. From the back of your horse you will be able to marvel at the natural beauty of this mountainous region. You will find nature here in its most pure state. The rich Mediterranean flora and fauna will be spread out at your feet. This afternoon you will be relaxing in one of the most celebrated Arabic Baths of the city.

Day Three

Today we will be organising a trip to the real jewel of this city; the Alhambra Palace. There will be a guided tour in English and we are in no doubt that you will be totally captivated by this truly breath-taking wonder of the world.

Day Four

Today you will be heading to Almeria which is approximately 1hour 45 minutes. Here you can stop and visit the famous Alcazaba (and ancient Arabic castle) and then keep driving to San Jose approximately 40 minutes away. This fishermen’s village is situated in the middle of the picturesque marine nature reserve of Cabo de Gata. This region features dramatic cliffs, small and secluded coves and fine golden sand; it boasts some of the most beautiful, virgin beaches of southern Spain. This afternoon or early evening you will have the opportunity to ride. Beginners can choose between lessons and beach rides whilst more experienced riders can head straight for the beach. In the evening you will be able to enjoy from the charming town of San Jose.

Day Five

After breakfast your riding will continue. Choose again between an equitation class or enjoy riding along the magnificent beach of Cala Higuera. This afternoon we have a special adventure planned for you. You will be collected from the hotel and taken from the beach to the spectacular Tabernas Desert; this is the only desert in Europe. Here you will be able to enjoy riding in typical cowboy style. You will also be treated to the fantastic show at Fort Bravo where many of the famous spaghetti Westerns were directed by Sergio Leone.

Day Six

This morning you will be able to enjoy an unforgettable ride along one of the most beautiful beaches of this spectacular coastline. Los Genoveses. The ride will be 2 hours long. In the afternoon we recommend that you visit the beautiful town of Mojacar, perched on a hilltop from which you can enjoy fabulous views of the Mediterranean. Why not stroll along the narrow winding streets in the centre of this town which still reflect the authentic eastern past of this wonderful location. Alternatively, both Nijar and Carboneras are both worthy of a visit.

Day Seven

Free day to relax or to explore the wonderful virgin beaches located in the surroundings, another beach ride or some of the optional activities we offer.

Day Eight

Today you can either head back to Malaga (3 hours driving), Granada (2 hours 20 minutes driving) or Almeria airport (45 minutes driving) for your flight home.

We can also organise golf, water sports. fishing, water skiing or a guided visit to Cabo de Gata National Park. This holiday runs throughout the year, it is completely flexible so you can choose your start and finish date to fit in with your preferred flights. It is suitable for riders and non-riders as other activities can be arranged for non-riders at each venue. We accept total beginners to experienced riders as all the stables have a variety of horses to suit all levels. We can add additional rides or reduce the number of rides.
