Day One

Arrive and settle into your chosen accommodation. You can either stay in the lovely village hotel or our family run B&B, both village located and within easy reach of the beach and stables. This afternoon you will begin your riding holiday. Beginners will start with a half hour lesson followed by a short hack along the scenic pathways of the surrounding farm land.

For more experienced riders you also will start with a lesson followed by one hour hack taking you up towards the National Trust land offering stunning views of the coast. Your adventure on horseback has just begun! This evening embrace the natural beauty of the South West by taking a walk or bike ride along the Tarka Trail. This famous walk runs along 130 miles of Devon's coastline passing by long white sandy beaches, hidden rockpools, high cliffs and magical fishing villages.

Day Two

This morning you will head back to the stables for your second day of riding. Beginners, you will start with a second lesson putting into practise what you learnt yesterday, followed by a one hour hack. Experienced riders will be having a one and a half hour sand dunes hack which will follow the Tarka Trail along the cliff paths of the beach. Those who wish to can go for more trotting, cantering or even a gallop.

This afternoon why not try your hand at the many watersports that are on offer. You can choose from surfing, kayaking or coasteering (but remember an old pair of trainers for this one!) For those who would prefer to relax after a hard mornings ride head to the village for a traditional Devonshire cream tea. The pretty hillside village hosts great pubs, restaurants and a laid back atmosphere and with it's typically mild North Devon climate makes this a wonderful year-round holiday destination.

Day Three

This morning you will be preparing for your final horseback adventure. Today beginners will be taken on one last hack along the National Trust coastal route beside the sea. The experienced riders will be preparing for a two hour beach ride. Here you will get the opportunity to have a canter or gallop along 3 miles of clear white sandy beach following the sand dunes and Traka Trail back to the stables which offer truly stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean.

For those who have a child over 7 years interested in riding we can arrange an 'own a pony day'. This will include a riding lesson, hack and stable management (grooming, tacking up and may be lunging for those who are more experienced). These can be arranged any day of the week and run from 10am - 4pm, all you need is to drop your little one off with a packed lunch!

For families who want to incorporate horse riding and outdoor activity sessions we have the perfect combination for you - the horsey members can enjoy the riding element while the non-riders can experience surfing, cycling and kayaking. Call the office for prices for pony days and other activities on 01829 781123.
