This luxury equestrian centre and hotel located between Glasgow and Edinburgh has earned a great reputation over the past 28 years for quality unaccompanied children’s horse riding holidays, providing terrific fun packed breaks for children aged between 8 and 16 years old. Here the aim is to give children the time of their lives remembered for years to come, with careful attention to safety and round the clock 24hr adult supervision.
Children’s’ breaks consist of a mixture of tuition and fun things to do on horseback including riding to music, picnic rides, games sessions, jumping and bareback riding plus much more.
Typical Day
7.30 am - Wake-up call
8.30 am - Catch and prepare horses/ponies for the day
9.00 am - Breakfast
10.00 - 12.00 Ride
12.00 - Feed ponies and stable managment
1.00 pm - lunch
2 - 4 pm - Riding lessons and hack out
4 pm - Evening stables
5.30 pm - Evening meal
6.30 - 7.30 pm - Time free
7.30 - 9.30 pm - Evening activities
Evening entertainment is provided by specially trained group leaders. There is something to do every night but if you just want to hang out with your pals there’s a variety of places to go including:
Peepers – our cinema which shows a movie every night at 7pm.
Mingles – a multi-function space for talent and dancing competitions.
Chukkis – has the television and is where kids eat their meals
Gallops – our new coffee bar and entertainment place with Air Hockey, Table Football and Table Tennis + ipod connections to our full theatre sound system.
Accommodation is in rooms of four.
Riding groups are made according to ability so everyone has a great opportunity to improve their skills.
The End of the Week Gymkhana ensures everyone leaves with prizes and rosettes.
