Day One
Arrive and settle into your chosen accommodation. Each of the properties that we offer are set in and around the Rushmore Estate. You can choose to stay in Angie's beautiful cottage on site with the horses boasting spectacular views all the way to Bournemouth. This is a great option for single girls or couples coming without a car as she will provide transfers for you from Gillingham or Salisbury train station or Hurn airport. The local village inn is within walking distance for evening meals. For those that want to relax with a massage after a days ride you can stay at the 5* B&B with on site holistic therapy suite and heated outdoor pool. For those that wish to be staying in the history of the location we also offer a family run manor house designed by Thomas Archer with a bar and restaurant serving beautiful home cooked food. Finally you might prefer to stay in the village itself. Both charming and comfortable, the village inn famous for its food, has eight ensuite bedrooms all of which are stunning and individually decorated. There is also an onsite wine shop selling locally produced wine, beer and cider.
This afternoon you will be meeting the horses, all of which have an interesting story behind them. Once comfortable Angie will be taking you for your first ride out through the thick woods away from the hustle and bustle of the day to day work and life. You will ride to the local farm shop for afternoon tea - what better way to start your trip!
Day Two
This morning after a good night's sleep and breakfast you will head back to the stables to be reunited with your faithful steed. Take your camera so that you won't be disappointed as you will ride through the estate up to the hills of the Cranborne Chase to take in the spectacular views. There is no doubt that this is a magical sight to see on horse back! As you are the only riders permitted on the estate this really is a truly exclusive trip never to forget. There are no cars allowed in this area and you will hardly meet a soul apart from the wonderful wildlife, peace and tranquility. You will continue on your journey stopping of at a local inn where fires roar in the winter and all the food is home made and locally sourced. The puddings must be sampled!
Day Three
The third day, sadly, is your last chance to ride. Angie will take you on an early morning ride through the Estate where hopefully you will catch a glimpse of the wild deer in the ancient valleys and see the stunning view once more across the Cranborne Chase.
Before you go home if you like your wines then its on to sample the delights of 'Museum Wines' which you are able to purchase and take home, or for those that don't drink it's morning brunch.
Rushmore Estate really is something straight out of a Jilly Cooper novel, you need to see it to believe it, a holiday you'll never forget begging you to come back again and again!
