Adult Intensive Riding Break

Day One

Arrive today and settle into your accommodation. Your first riding day will start tomorrow. You will find two programmes of riding here, starting with the beginners / improvers programme and followed by the advanced programme.

Day Two

After breakfast you will be heading to the riding stables. This morning you will have a lunge lesson and a flatwork lesson (with a short rest in betweek to give you time to get your breath back!) The lunge lesson will allow you to understand the motion of your horse and develop your initial balance preparing you for your flatwork lesson. Lunch may be taken in the form of a bar snack at the adjacent hotel. After lunch you will continue your riding with a hack along the local bridle paths. During the remainder of the day you will have a one hour stable management lesson that will teach you how to care for and handle your horse safely.

Day Three

After breakfast in the farm house you will be enjoying the same riding plan as yesterday with a lunge lesson, a flatwork lesson and a hack as well as a stable management lesson.

Advanced Programme

Day One

Arrive today and settle into your accommodation. If you arrive in time you can have a private lesson in the afternoon, if not your first riding day will start tomorrow.

Day Two

After breakfast you will be heading to the riding stables.  This morning you will have a lunge lesson and a flatwork lesson. The lunge lesson will develop a stronger and deeper seat which will enable you to influence your horse with the most subtle of aids. After the lunge lesson you will have a flatwork lesson in which you will practice the skills learnt in the lunge lesson. Lunch may be taken in the form of a bar snack at the adjacent hotel. This afternoon you can choose either a jumping lesson or a dressage lesson if you were unable to ride yesterday or you can have a hack out into the tranquil surrounding countryside.

Day Three

After breakfast you will have your three hour hack round Kelsall Hill Farm Ride. For those who would like to jump (and are able to!) the ride includes small log piles to BE cross country fences from intro to novice level and a water complex. Alternatively, those who prefer four hooves on the ground can just enjoy the picturesque Cheshire countryside. If you would prefer to ride in the afternoon this can be arranged.

Package price of £370 includes –

•    2 nights B&B accommodation
•    1 lunge lesson, 2 flat/jump lessons (you choose), 2 hacks including a three hour  farm ride with the option to jump for those assessed as capable.

What to do and where to eat

The farm house is located minutes away from the pretty town of Tarporley, with its old coaching inns and top-quality boutique shopping. There is a host of local restaurants and pubs to choose from in Tarporley; The Swan pub has an award winning Chef, The Rising Sun is renowned for exquisite food and Cristiano’s is one of the best Italian restaurants in Cheshire.
There is also plenty to do for non-riders. Chester is only 15 minutes away, so if you want to see Chester Zoo, The Rows or Cheshire Oaks you are ideally placed. The stables are a 10 minute drive away and are also superbly located to enjoy some of the very best hacking out across Cheshire’s rolling pastureland and into Delamere Forest.

There is a single supplement charge of £20 for 2 nights in the farmhouse.
