Day One
Arrive after lunch/late afternoon and settle into your on-site accommodation, the local pubs and restaurants are just a 5 or 10 minute drive, those who choose to stay in the self catering accommodation may of course bring their own food and wine.
Lunch and dinner is available on site too - Maggie is a great cook!
Day Two
A generous breakfast will be served in the farmhouse this morning. After breakfast you will meet your horse for a lesson. After a rest for lunch, this afternoon you will be enjoying a hack around the farm tracks and woodlands that surround this stunning estate. You will be walking or trotting in the grounds of the estate. The evening is free to enjoy the area and local pubs/restaurants.
Day Three
After breakfast in the farm house, your riding will follow the same pattern as yesterday with instruction in the morning followed by a hack in the afternoon where you will be able to practice your newly learnt skills.
Day Four
After breakfast, you will have a lesson in the arena, followed by time to relax by the pool or read a book in this most tranquil of settings. This afternoon you may like to help out with the horses after your ride, the staff will always be keen to show you the ropes.
Day Five
Today you will have a day off from riding. There are plenty of things to see in Berkshire including Windsor castle; one of the most impressive buildings in the world, Highclere castle in Newbury; one of England’s most beautiful Victorian castles set amidst spectacular parkland or Beale Park which offers a fantastic selection of birds. Additionally, the area is brimming with all things horsey including Ascot, Royal Windsor, Newbury racecourse and Lambourne just a short drive away.
Day Six
Today after breakfast you will have a lesson in the arena and then you will be heading on a longer hack into the picturesque valley and into woodland. Evening meals in the farmhouse can be ordered with Maggie she just needs 24 hours notice.
Day Seven
Today you will have your final lesson and hack out and hopefully you will now be feeling confident and relaxed on your horse.
Day Eight
Today you will be departing but we hope that you will be back soon.
There is a choice of accommodation either in the large 18th century farmhouse that offers cosy rooms and delicious home cooked food or for those wanting more independence and privacy there is a choice of small stable mews self catering cottages, each uniquely and lovingly decorated by the owner. In the grounds there is a heated outdoor pool (free use by arrangement) beautiful traditional gardens and old fashioned flower beds. All of the accommodation is non smoking.
There is a maximum weight of 15 stone. The holidays are suitable for non riders as we are located in a wonderful area to enjoy a host of other activities. The centre has an outdoor swimming pool and fabulous gardens.
