Day One
Arrive at either Florence, Pisa or Perugia airports and head to your accommodation choice. Choose between staying in Arezzo, the lively and historical capital of Tuscany or in the surrounding countryside in a charming hotel or self catering accommodation. This afternoon you will have the opportunity to have your first riding lesson at one of the biggest and most remarkable equestrian centres in Europe, taught by a top class instructor.
Day Two
Today you will be exploring this stunning area, hacking out in the Tuscan countryside, visiting picturesque hamlets, passing through vineyards, olive groves, beautiful woods and forests. Keep an eye out for wildlife – you may be lucky enough to see deer, wild boar with their young, foxes and very rarely, porcupines! The horses and ponies are suitable for both experienced and less experienced riders with experienced riders able to enjoy long gallops alongside the fields of sunflowers, wheat or maize.
Day Three
Today you have the option for a full or half day picnic ride. Your ride will take you to the nearby picturesque village of San Gimignano, amongst the famous vineyards of Vernaccia and Chianti, up to the Siena hills.
If you decide to have a half day picnic ride, we can arrange a wine tour with a specialist local guide in the afternoon. We will arrange transfers to an authentic Chianti Vineyard where you will be able to taste the world famous Chianti produce. You will learn how Chianti Classico is made, visit the wine cellars and find out how the vineyard also plays a part in producing other products such as Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
Should you choose the full day picnic ride, you will stop for lunch in another typical and charming vineyard before moving on to a hilltop medieval town, where you will have a chance to stroll around, enjoying the shops and handicrafts.
Day Four
Sadly today it is time to say good bye to this spectacular region. However, should you wish, you can extend your stay for one night and experience the magic of Florence, the jewel of Renaissance Italy. The perfect end to a perfect holiday!
