Riding Along The Beautiful Coast Of The Algarve

Riding Along The Beautiful Coast Of The Algarve

We have two packages available in Portugal that will make you forget about the winter weather and transport you to a sunny paradise.

Experience riding the famous Lusitano horse less than 1hr from Lisbon. The Lusitano, also known as the Pure Blood Lusitano or PSL (Puro Sangue Lusitano), is a Portugese Horse breed. Both are sometimes called Iberian Horses, the breeds both developed on the Iberian Peninsula. Until the 1960s they were considered one breed, under the Andalusian name.

Schooling 2

Lusitanos can be any solid colour, although they are generally grey, bay or chestnut. Horses of the Alter Real strain are always bay. Members of the breed are of Baroque type, with convex facial profiles, heavy muscling, intelligent and willing natures, with agile and elevated movement. Originally bred for war, dressage and bullfighting, Lusitanos are still used today in the latter two. They have competed in several Olympics and World Equestrian Games as part of the Portuguese and Spanish dressage teams. They have also made a showing in driving competitions, with a Belgian team of Lusitanos winning multiple international titles.

Pinetrees

Half board is included in the price as well as a personalised riding programme designed especially for you. Choose from flat or jump lessons, cross country and hacking out through eucalyptus and pines trees, olive groves and rivers. Find out more about this stunning trip.

Pinetrees ride

Our second exquisite trip is the Algarve Coast package, for this superb riding holiday in Portugal you will be staying on full board basis at a lovely equestrian centre close to the beach which offers great accommodation plus access to a Country Club with swimming pool and gym.

Pinetrees terrace

It is an ideal location for enjoyable riding with an abundance of sandy tracks, the open land full of wildflowers and herbs as well close to golden beaches and a nature reserve. It lies in a region where riding is possible throughout the year as, even in winter, the sun is virtually always shining. Warm evenings provide the opportunity for enjoying a wonderful sunset from horseback and the unique experience of riding under a full moon.

 Caroline Oaks2

For the duration of your stay you will be taught and guided by a fully qualified English instructor who will ensure that you both improve your riding skills and that you enjoy some fabulous and relaxing riding out.

Customer feedback -

The place were dreams are made!

Myself and a friend booked our holiday through equestrian escapes and we really have had the time of our lives, the horses couldn't be better cared for and was very happy in their work. Our host in Portugal was the owner of the riding centre and he really couldn't do enough for us. He was very knowledgeable in all areas of riding, he gave us some interesting techniques to use at home with our own horses. Thank you so much for an amazing adventure - Karen
