August '10 - Cheshire

Fantastic  instructional break in Cheshire, I took my teenage daughter to improve our riding, 3 days there produced more improvement than months of lessons, We now feel confident in canter and the week after our return our riding school said we were ready to go out hacking, so great breakthrough. Definitely would plan to go back or even try a trip to Spain!

August '10 - Cornwall

I have just returned from my riding holiday in Cornwall and I cannot tell you how fabulous it was.  I had the happiest of times and cannot wait to go again.  The staff at the Riding School were fabulous, as were the horses, and I enjoyed every minute of every lesson, hack and beach ride.  It gave me a lot of confidence and pleasure.  I was also perfectly happy with the accommodation and eating facilities and cannot thank you enough for arranging my riding schedule to my satisfaction.  All being well (in this gloomy economic climate), I will be in touch to arrange my next happy holiday.

July '10 Brecon Beacons

The B&B was comfortable, clean and in a beautiful location, only a short distance to  the Riding Centre. The quality of riding was brilliant, we had a supberb time,  and Kate and Ruth were excellent guides, in the end I was helping out, the horses were well trained, well behaved and perfect for the terrain. Hello Mr Thomas (AKA Buttons) my favourite.
Our overall experience was fabulous, cant wait to do this again, seriously looking at the three and five day trail rides, will certainly go back.
The Riding stables and the B&B are a credit to your weekends

July '10 - Cheshire Spa

I would recommend equestrian escapes as we were delighted with the choice of hotel and the quality of both the tuition and the superb horses we were given to ride in Tarporley.  The stables made us feel very welcome and could not do any more for us.  We had a couple of nervous riders in our party and these were catered for extremely well.  The combination of spa hotel and riding was perfect and offered excellent value for money, even in August. We will be planning another trip next year and will definitely be using Equestrian Escapes again.

A beautiful setting, good local pubs, good shopping centres nearby. The handling of the booking was excellent - very helpful.
 
The quality of the accommodation was great, lovely room, great breakfast, very friendly and relaxed.
 
The quality of the riding was very good, accommodated our requirements, good hacks out especially pub ride!


 
Overall Experience - A thoroughly enjoyable break, will definitely be returning.

July '10 - Portugal

Great! The setting was beautiful and placed on the Obidos lagoon. The service was easy and hassle free which made the whole trip run so smoothly. The eco-camp that I stayed at was really different but I enjoyed it so much. The tipi was lovely, the bed was very comfy and I slept like a baby every night! The quality of the riding was excellent and the beach ride was exceptional. I could not believe my eyes when i got there. Our horses were absolutely gorgeous and so incredibly soft natured. In all of my riding experience, I never have come across such fantasticly well natured animals. They were a total delight. My overall experience was great, I thoroughly enjoyed my four day stay and would have liked to stay for much longer!

I plan on recommending this holiday to both my family and friends!

What a lovely break.  The hotel was very comfortable with great views, facilities and the food and wine were superb.  The riding experience with Coralie and Vasco was everything we could have hoped for and more.  They were welcoming, friendly, offered a super service and a great learning experience.   Wonderful business model and we certainly hope to return for more first class instruction in the future.

We had a fantastic holiday in Pembrokeshire with spectacular beach
rides, there was sun for all four days of our stay and even a turquoise sea. Our riding
improved and now we are confident with cantering in straight lines! There
was a good choice or horses and the stable staff were helpful and very friendly. The holiday was fantastic.

I just wanted to drop you a note to say thank you for a lovely riding break last week.  I thoroughly enjoyed the riding in Cheshire, Sandra and the staff were very welcoming.  Your expertise was much appreciated when planning my schedule, I was really happy with the lunge and flat lessons and the number of rides out that I did - it all worked out perfectly.  Except of course for the fact that after 12 years of no riding my body was physically battered afterwards!  Thank goodness Chris found a seat-saver for me before my 3 hour ride! I took my daughter on a long weekend who needed to get back her confidence with horses. She certainly managed to do that with great support and friendly advice from the team at the stables . As someone who has only ever ridden once before , I was made to feel totally at ease . Wonderful time  with very supportive people in a beautiful and scenic part of Pembrokeshire . I would certainly love to go again

June 2010 Cheshire

Dear Sarah,  Just wanted to say a big thank you to all at Equestrian Escapes. We've just come back from a 4nts holiday at Damson Cottage in Cheshire. The cottage was delightful, and the riding at the Stables was fantastic! Myself and my two children had a brilliant time doing lessons and hacking out in the Delamere Forest. We've all really improved our riding ability, especially me. I'd say I'm beginner/novice level and haven't ridden much at all in the last 10 years, but my confidence soared through the roof after my first lesson! The Instructors & Staff were fabulous, and I had a lovely quiet, yet forward going horse - by the third day I found myself cantering around the outdoor arena going over small jumps. It was so exhilarating - we'll def be going back to Cheshire just to go to those particular stables again, and if this is the standard you achieve at your other venues, then we'll most definitely be in touch with you - Cantering on the Beach is something I've always wanted to do, and I now feel confident enough in my riding ability to give it a go. Just a quick email to let you know what a fantastic time we had when we went on your Cheshire Riding Holiday (1st June - 3rd June). My daughter Emma rode on the holiday and the staff at the stables were fantastic with her.  Emma was so nervous and didn't want to canter but the staff were really encouraging and by the time she had her second lesson she was cantering.  The whole experience did Emma the world of good and she came away so pleased with herself. She even said she wanted to take the horse and instructors home with her as they were so good with her. The B&B was fantastic and really welcoming. Emma has said that she would like to return next year so will be looking into that at some point with you.

The structure of the week was expertly put together – we would never have been able to do this ourselves. April '10 Horses and Spa

'A weekend beyond expectations.  The hotel was in a beautiful location, with good clean rooms, nice food, good facilities and lovely views.  Tarporley was nice to wonder around and Chester City Centre was only 20 minutes away, with great shopping.  The Riding Stables were exceptional.  A welcoming yard, which was beautifully kept.  The horses were in great condition, very receptive and truly enjoyed their job whether in the school or on a hack.  The lessons were the best we have experienced where we learnt a great deal.  The hacks took us through woods and as a group with Equestrian Escapes we were kept together at all times and given every opportunity to canter.  The booking and organisation was well managed and they were always there to answer questions. We felt safe and looked after throughout.  We would highly recommend this weekend.

I'm sorry it's taken me so long to write to thank you for organising the most fabulous holiday for my husband, Ben and son, Oli.  It was a total and complete all-round success!  They both just loved it - I really can't be sufficiently effusive or grateful. 
Of course, as you predicted, the highlight was your trainer in Jerez.  He was clearly charming - attentive, kind, enthusiastic and an expert with his horses.  Both boys raved about the riding and his skills.  He clearly looked after them well beyond what was expected. The hotel worked well and they both enjoyed being in Jerez and seeing the horses. Thank you Sarah - it was a wonderful experience that I know Oli will remember all his life. I'm just hoping to find an excuse to go myself as I'm hugely jealous!!

April 10 Beach and Mountains Spain

Hi Emma,
re the above, we had a wonderful time.
Dallas, Jeanette, Chris and the gang organised some great lessons and trips and really looked after us on a lunchtime and evening. Dallas's friend also really kindly helped out and took some of the lessons.  Truly great people and companions. Down in Tarifa, Jos (and the german lady whose name has just popped out of my head!) were superb also.
All venues, people, accomodation and rides could not have been better - not to mention the horses! They were all really understanding about my complete lack of ability, and even managed not to laugh when I fell off!Please pass on my and Kirstys big thanks to all, and to Sarah for organising. The only thing that didnt quite work was the wind in Tarifa was so strong, Kirsty didnt get to ride on the beach, as hoped,  but this in no way spoilt a wonderful 'adventure'. I wouldnt hesitate in recommending any of them or the venues-  Kirsty learnt more in a week there than the whole of last year here in the UK,  and we made some great new friends.

April 10 Children's Riding Holiday

This was our second visit to Berkshire and it was just as good as the first time.  My daughter found the riding excellent and the opportunity to help round the stables was much appreciated.  I don’t ride but enjoyed a relaxing time and the lovely country walks.  We will definitely be back, thanks to all the team again.

April 10 Four Star Horses and Spa

The holiday destination of Tarporely was so nice, the shops were lovely and everyone was friendly the pubs were fantastic. The handling of the booking was very good as well and quite fast. We loved the hotel, the rooms were so nice, and we really enjoyed staying there. The riding was the main point of the holiday and me and my friend thoroughly enjoyed it, the horses were fantastic I especially love Red, they were all very well behaved and the hacks were really good with some nice views. We were all so pleased, and we are thinking of coming back next year!

March 10 Long Weekend Beach Ride

As a lone traveller I was apprehensive.  I was made to feel welcome and put at ease both at the guest house and at the riding stables.  The riding was amazing.  They know their horses well and match them perfectly to your requirements.  I had an amazing time and I am sure I will be back!

We had a five night break in Tarifa at the end of March, the whole experience was fantastic, the instructors were so friendly and really wanted us to learn so I would recommend it to anyone who would like to try something different. The whole thing had a great laid back vibe and you could tell that the horses were well looked after and loved it.

Found this to be a fantastic location, with fabulous accommodation. The riding was flexible on a daily basis with a nice mix of lessons and hacking out. Given that neither of us had really been on a horse before, we were amazed at how quickly we were able to get started.  I must admit that I was a little sceptical that we’d be doing our hacks, but the quality of the teaching at the stables was outstanding and we quickly gained in confidence.

Just to let you know how much we enjoyed the trip to Italy.  Antonello was very hospitable indeed, and the teacher (Giacomo) was excellent.  So it was a very successful trip all round!

September 09 Horse Riding Holiday Berkshire

I’m a beginner and had excellent tuition at Cullinghood on a well-schooled horse, from an Italian instructor with excellent English and a great ability to put concepts across. An hour’s lesson followed by a hack was just the right combination, and gave me the sense that I was in careful hands that wanted to see me have some fun together with development, stretching my ability. The estate at Cullinghood offers good riding with no road work and the stables complex is a very interesting collection of buildings, some of which may be listed I guess.

Our stay in Italy was a wonderful retreat, the castle is set in stunning surroundings and the riding was well catered for. The horses were fit and able and the riding was through lovely peaceful surroundings. We had a wonderful time and would not hesitate to recommend this holiday.

Just wanted to let you know that we had a wonderful time riding last week in Wales - the individual attention and time that was taken with everyone at the stables was just  excellent and made us both feel welcome and safe.
I achieved my goal - to canter on the beach and although still 'wobbly' cantering I did it! - thank you I really appreciated the expertise and advice from the stables.
I could not believe how hard they all worked, it was non stop and everything ran like clockwork, all the staff were friendly and knowledgeable, breakfast, lunch and accommodation were really good and comfortable and it felt really relaxed and 'at home' particularly as the house is beautiful.  
Can't wait to return - the beaches are stunning and horses just magnificent

Our leader was wonderful and knowledgable making the ride great fun. It truly was breath taking and the setting was sub-lime. The breakfast at the accommodation was great and all the staff were really nice and friendly especially when serving g&t’s!  Perfect location and only a 10 minute walk to the stables

June 09 Cornish Riding Holidays 

If you are thinking of having a horse riding break – book it through  Equestrian Escapes.  They were so helpful and found the ideal hotel for us as my daughter was coming home on leave and I wanted to bring her dogs along, so we could also explore the countryside with dog walks.  The hotel was lovely, the stable staff were great and we had some great rides.   Thank you.

May 09 Horses and Chocolate

We have just returned from the 2 night horses and chocolate package that you arranged for us to celebarate my 40th birthday.
In an age where we are all to quick to complain I felt compelled to let you know what a fabulous time we both had. The break was excellent from start to finish. The hotel in Tarporley couldnt have been more perfect....luxurious but with a lovely relaxed atmosphere and every single member of staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming. 
The riding experience was again fabulous offering exactly what we needed to ensure that both rider and non rider enjoyed the experience. The staff and peole at the stables were again very welcoming and friendly.
This theme continued on to our chocolate expereince in the tea shop again quality food and warm friendly people....what more could we want.
We were very impressed with Tarporley and its community spirit and loved the fact that the local businesses seem to support each other and work together to promote a great place to stay.
We would throughroughly reccomend Tarporley, the businesses we encountered and your company to anyone who asked.

April 09 Learn to Ride in Italy

We had a wonderful time from start to finish. We really didn’t want to come home, a horse lovers dream retreat. Just like visiting a member of the family ( that happened to own a castle.) A real retreat from the real world. A fantastic break, lovely people, well looked after horses, nothing was too much trouble, very comfortable relaxed holiday.

I just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that Sarah and I had an absolutely fabulous trip this week. We could not fault a thing! I am so glad we spoke and we switched to this trip!
The riding was sensational - everything we hoped for and I almost came home with a horse! Fell in love with a super X racehorse they has down there. Rode her Western on most of the rides and had a wonderful time with her - my dream horse!
The staff were so friendly at the stables and this made all the difference. The friendliest stables I think I have ever been to! The guides were a great giggle and we had loads to chat about when we were out.
B&B was lovely, very comfy and the local pub had fantastic food. It was lovely to chill out and just walk everywhere. We will definately go back again.

Just emailing to say thanks for organising our riding break last weekend.  The accommodation was lovely and we both really enjoyed the riding sessions you sorted out.  All the girls were very friendly and helpful, especially since we worked out that it had really been over 25 years since we had ridden!  Getting on the horses we found reasonably easy after a shaky start but getting off another matter - much more practice needed.

November '08 Epona Trail and Train

We enjoyed the holiday, the weather was perfect, the trail rides and beach were wonderful and the extras, meals Flamenco night and Jerez. Our Beach horses and Trail horses were lovely. The staff all friendly.Fernando a good host and Jane' meals were fabulous, we would certainly buy her recipe book whenever she produces it.
We spent the week in the company of a young American girl and an Irish Woman it was just a lovely small group.
Several people have enquired about our riding holiday and I have given them your web address.
We have many photos and memories, we would definately return to Spain one day.

October '08 Horses Sun and Wine

Hi Sarah

We arrived home yesterday after an absolutely fantastic holiday and we would both like to say a big thank you for organising it all. Everything was just amazing and it is impossible to pick out one highlight! The weather was brilliant - a bit of rain one morning but otherwise a week of glorious sunshine.

The hotel is Seville was fabulous - we spent hours investigating all the various patios, courtyards etc - and as for the breakfast, what can I say, I have never seen so much delicious food in one place! And it is a lovely city with lots to see and do - we spent quite a lot of time just wandering around the maze of streets - stopping off for tapas and cerveza every so often!

Los Jandalos in Jerez was also lovely - in a completely different way - and what an action packed four days we had! The School of Equestrian Art and the National Stud were both incredible - it is just awe inspiring the way they handle and train these horses. When the beautiful white stallion with the flowing mane came into the arena at the National Stud and galloped around to the music of Chariots of Fire I got a huge lump in my throat - and when all the foals came rushing in followed by their mothers, that was it, the hanky was out!!

And the riding we did was just so good. Alfonso's stables are super - lovely horses and lovely people. We met Alfonso, but it was a chap called Francisco who took us out and he was great. I rode two beautiful horses - Silencio and Sultana.

And our ride up in the national park with Connie, the lovely German lady, was also wonderful. I rode in a spanish saddle and a hackamore bridle which was a completely new experience. The back of the saddle is very high and i was bit worried that I would never be able to get my leg over, so to speak, but luckily my horse - Van Gogh - was quite small and very patient!

I must also give a mention to our wonderful taxi driver, Alvaro (not sure of the spelling!). He was a complete star and could not have been more helpful. On the last day he recommended an excellent restaurant just outside Jerez where he took us and then picked us up again later. I could quite get used to having a driver!!

The flamenco dancing was also excellent, we enjoyed the show very much - along with a delicious meal and far too much wine!!

Well time for a sherry I think .......

September '08 Horse Riding Holidays Cheshire

My daughter and I had a really great time on our recent riding break, the accommodation at the B & B was as you promised first class, the decor and furnishings were second to none and the hosts were very friendly and helpful, the breakfasts kept us going all day!!
Everyone at the stables was very professional and the assessment lesson soon straightened out my bad habits! We had great weather so the hacks through Delamere Forest were fantastic, beautiful scenery, dappled sunshine it was idyllic! The horses were lovely too, both sensible but forward going, Red (my steed) had a cheeky sense of humour and loved a fuss, Rosie got really attached to Charlie and said she could have brought him home.
Anyway just to say a big thank you for arranging our break and excelling on all counts, and at such short notice too we were very impressed and will surely be back for more.

Just a quick note to say what a fabulous time we had. We loved the farm, the riding facilities and the horses. We did loads of riding and had lots of beautiful food. Nuno was brilliant. He was very patient and taught us both an enormous amount and we had a real laugh with him all week. I loved riding his big 7 yr old gelding Ulisses and his little 5 year old Xogum. Nuno used them to give me lots of tips on how to develop my Mare. We were certainly very sad to leave!

Just wanted to let you know Kathy and I had a fabulous (although now a bit achey!!) weekend up in Cheshire. It's always good to get out of London for a break, if only for a short while. The hotel was as good as you promised and the stables were first class. It was totally amazing, Staying at casas maria was perfect for us as we were surrounded by wild life and the stables were great, great horses great riding, great people. "Just a note and some pictures of our fabulous time in Jerez. The facilities were  absolutely fanatastic and the horses superb. Very highly trained, they definitely knew more than we did. It was a wonderful experience to feel the piaffe and passage. We would love to go back again.

I would advise your clients to take a phrase book as English is not so widely spoken in from the coast, needless to say we got by OK.

We would also recommend car hire. It was great weather too, an all round fabulous time.'

May '08 - Epona Holiday

Just wanted to let you know we had a wonderful time at Epona. It would be very difficult to find a more nearly perfect equestrian holiday.

The horses were superb for everyone, the beginners and men who didnt think they would like lessons absolutely loved them they learned more than I ever thought possible in 4 lessons. I was priviledged to ride Seneca and Marius.The complete package was brilliant with the variety of the beach ride visits and fantastic food everywhere.

April '08 Beach Riding Cornwall

Hi Sarah,

Antonia and I had a lovely time at the riding stables. The weather was great, the horseriding was fantastic (I never knew I had so many muscles) and we would certainly consider doing it again.
I also hadn't realised how beautiful the countryside is round there and there is so much we didn't get time to do. Hopefully we'll do it next time.
Everyone we met was delightful - both at the hotel and at the riding centre -
