Family Riding Holiday

Day One

Arrive today and settle into your accommodation.  You  can choose to stay  in a beautifully situated four star  golf  and spa hotel,   in a farm house  bed and  breakfast  or in a pretty  self catering  cottage.  All are located in Devon’s most idyllic countryside and offer the warmth and hospitality renowned of the West Country. This evening  you  have  a host of  local restaurants and  pubs  to  choose  from,  all just  a  few  minutes  drive  away.

Day Two

After breakfast today you will be heading for the riding centre, a short   drive   from most of   the properties   (walking   distance   from the cottage). The Children’s programme runs from 10am - 4pm each day. During this   time   the children   will ride   twice.   They will also learn to look after and handle their pony throughout the day including preparing for their rides, lunchtime feeding and getting them ready for bed. They will be under the supervision of their instructor at all times. Adults  who would like to  enjoy  riding  themselves can take a  lesson  in the  morning  and/or  a hack later  to coincide with  dropping  off  and picking up their  children  leaving  you plenty  of time to explore this lovely area.

Day Three

Today there will be another fun packed day at the stables for the children.  Adults can follow a similar programme to yesterday and include a scenic hack over the heathland with spectacular views of the coastline or you may prefer to take a trip into the town with its unique selection of shops and is only a short walk f rom the sea front where you will find a beautiful pebble beach with clear water providing safe swimming. This evening you can choose from a range of dining experiences from a light snack to a full a la carte meal.

Day Four

This is  the last  day at the stables  for the children  who should  now be  experts, and will no doubt take great delight  in explaining  to you in great  detail  the difference  between  a dandy brush and a body brush! Those  adults  who have  chosen to  ride  will  have improved too, but don’t  worry if  you don’t  want to ride  there is  so much to do in  this   lovely  area.   Today, why not enjoy a walk along the majestic Jurassic coast or on the heathlands which are designated as an area of outstanding natural beauty. There is something for everyone from seasoned hikers to occasional walkers.

Day Five

Today you will be departing but before you go you may like to visit Bicton Park Botanical Gardens which are Devons most magnificent historical gardens or take a trip to Escot which includes gardens, maze, birds of prey, play barn, aquatic centre and lots of family fun.
