Riding in Swaledale, N.Yorks

Day One

Arrive and settle into your accommodation in either a highly recommended B&B, a Georgian country house hotel or a pretty self catering holiday cottage all situated close to the riding stables. If time permits, we can organise a ride for you today, alternatively riding will commence tomorrow. Tonight, you may like to visit the local village just a few minutes away where there is a good choice of places to eat or there is a lovely pub with stunning views well known locally for good food.

Day Two

This morning the choice is yours, we can offer one hour rides, half day rides or full day rides including lunch. You will be riding on one of the fell, dale or cob horses, all have exceptional temperaments and will be delighted to show you their little piece of heaven. There is nothing quite like experiencing the Yorkshire Dales from horse back. All the treks are supervised by an experienced and qualified guide and are suitable for all levels of rider. Lead rein treks are available for younger, less experienced riders.

Day Three

Today you can choose how long you would like to ride for again. There is plenty to do for non-riders including fishing, cycling and sight seeing. Swaledale has long been a popular destination in Britain for those wanting to enjoysome rest and relaxation. For non riders you can enjoy the spectacular scenery of the Yorkshire Dales from a bicycle which can be hired locally or for walkers trekking in the hills is an experience you won't forget!

Accommodation

You can choose to stay in a top quality B&B, all rooms are en-suite with colour TV, tea & coffee facilities and full English breakfast (dogs welcome on prior request).

A charming privately owned Georgian country house hotel just 5 minutes drive from the stables. Each of the bedrooms are individually decorated with flat screen TV, DVD player, WIFI and spectacular views of Swaledale. There is a log burning inglenook fireplace in the drawing room and an elegant dining room serving wonderful food.

Attractive self catering cottages, a great choice for families and for those wanting to extend their stay.

Riding

We have suggested two riding programmes, one for intermediate riders who are up to rising trot and another for experienced riders who are confident in walk, trot, canter and gallop. We are always happy to tailor make a riding package to suit you, if you want to add or take away rides just ask!

Intermediate ride staying at B&B £235pp includes 3 x 1½ hr rides plus two nights B&B
Experienced ride at B&B £290pp includes 1 full day & 1 x ½ days riding (faster pace) plus two nights B&B

The B&B has a single supplement charge of £10 per night

Intermediate ride Country House Hotel £330pp includes 3 x 1½ hrs ride plus 2 nts B&B
Experienced Country House £385pp includes 1 full day & 1 x ½ day riding (faster pace) plus 2 nts B&B

The Country House has a single room supplement of £35 per night
